It was founded by B S Narayana, son of educationist B M Sreenivasaiah, and is managed by the B M S Educational Trust. It is the sister institution of B M S College of Engineering, a well established government aided engineering college in India. B M S Institute of Technology is recognized as a Research Centre by VTU

Admission Procedure & Eligibility in BMS Institute of Technology
The candidate shall have secured a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate (40% marks in case of SC/ST candidates) in three subjects with Physics, Mathematics as compulsory subjects and any one of Chemistry/ Biology/ Bio-technology/ Computer Science/ Electronics and shall have completed PUC, 10 + 2, or its equivalent with English as one of the languages.

The department of Placement and Training was established during the year 2004. The very first batch of students under this department were placed from the campus in 2005-06. Initially the placement department collaborated with the department in BMSCE campus. As of date the department is fully sustained and provides complete placement solutions to the students of the institute.
There has been a steady increase in the number of recruiting organizations since its establishment and at present we have around 150 organizations where in BMSIT alumni are making a difference, both to the glory of the company and an active change in the society.

BMS College of Engineering (BMSCE) was Founded in the year 1946 by Late Sri. B. M. Sreenivasaiah a great visionary and philanthropist and nurtured by his illustrious son Late Sri. B. S. Narayan. BMSCE is the first private sector initiative in engineering education in India. BMSCE has completed 72 years of dedicated service in the field of Engineering Education. Started with only 03 undergraduate courses, BMSCE today offers 13 Undergraduate & 16 Postgraduate courses both in conventional and emerging areas. 15 of its Departments are recognized as Research Centers offering PhD/M.Sc (Engineering by Research) degrees in Science, Engineering, Architecture and Management. COMEDK UGET 2019 Application Process
Candidates can apply for COMEDK UGET online on the official website of this engineering entrance exam. The important dates right from the start date for registration to result declaration as well as COMEDK UGET counselling dates will be available on the official website of COMEDK.
Candidates have to attach copies of the below mentioned documents with the printout of the Online Application Form of COMEDK UGET 2019:
·         Date of Birth Certificate/Identity proof
·         Class X marks sheet
·         Category Certificate if any for SC/ST/PD or Minority candidates
·         DD for the application fee
KCET 2019 Application Process
Candidates can purchase the KCET 2019 brochure-cum-application forms from the schools or colleges mentioned in the information brochure. However, candidates who purchase the brochures from schools/colleges need to submit the duly filled KCET 2019 application forms to the respective schools or colleges.
On the other hand, candidates who have received the brochure-cum-application forms for the entrance exam through ‘Speed Post’ need to send the duly filled application forms by speed post directly to Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) on or before the last date of submitting applications.

Businayana Mukundadas Sreenivasaiah College of Engineering (BMS): The college  is an autonomous engineering college in Basavangudi, Bangalore, India. It also has Evening college (BMSECE), a non autonomous college, which comes under VTU. The engineering college, started in 1946 by B. M. Sreenivasiah, was the first private sector initiative in technical education in India and is run by the BMS Educational Trust. The college was affiliated with Bangalore University until 1998. It was affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University from 1998 to 2008, and became autonomous in 2008. BMSCE is located on the Basavangudi Area Bull Temple Road, opposite to the famous Bull Temple. Though a private engineering college, it is partially funded by the Government of Karnataka.
